Vivo has finally launched the Y500 Pro in China, and yes — the rumors were true! The phone comes with a 200MP main camera, making it one of the most exciting mid-range phones this year. Let’s take a quick look at what’s new.
Powerful Performance
The Y500 Pro runs on the Dimensity 7400 chip, which is slightly faster than before with a 100MHz boost. You can now get it with up to 12GB RAM. However, the storage speed drops from UFS 3.1 to UFS 2.2, which might make data transfer a bit slower.
Camera Upgrades
The biggest highlight is the 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP5 sensor with OIS and Auto Focus. The extra rear cameras are mainly for design. On the front, you still get the same 32MP selfie camera from the previous model.
Display and Design
The phone has a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution. It’s flat, bright (up to 1600 nits), and protected by Diamond Shield Glass with an anti-reflective coating.
Bigger Battery & Faster Charging
Powering the phone is a huge 7000mAh battery with 90W fast charging. That’s a 22% increase in capacity compared to the Y400 Pro. The new model is a bit thicker (7.8mm) and heavier (198g), but it offers more durability.
Tough & Reliable
Vivo gives the Y500 Pro IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance, making it safe underwater for up to 1.5 meters for 5 hours. It also meets national standard durability tests, so it’s built to last.
Other Features
You get WiFi 6, in-display fingerprint sensor, infrared port, and NFC. There’s no SD card slot, and only a single bottom speaker.
Price
The Vivo Y500 Pro starts at CNY 1,799 (around PKR 71,000) for the 8GB + 128GB version. Prices will likely be higher in global markets.
Overall, the Vivo Y500 Pro brings a massive camera upgrade, huge battery, and premium durability — all at a mid-range price.
