Vivo has just launched two new budget 5G phones – Vivo Y31 5G and Vivo Y31 Pro 5G – starting in India before rolling out to more countries. These new models are packed with big batteries, fast displays, and upgraded cameras.
Vivo Y31 Pro 5G – The Power-Packed Option!
The Y31 Pro 5G is a stronger, faster version in the lineup. It features a 6.72-inch Full HD+ screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 960Hz PWM dimming, making the display smoother and easier on the eyes. The screen gets super bright at 1050 nits, but sadly, there’s no glass protection.
Under the hood, it runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip (4nm, 2.5GHz) with UFS 3.1 storage for fast app loading. You can choose between 128GB or 256GB storage, both with 8GB RAM. There’s no SD card slot.
The phone has a 50MP rear camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and an 8MP selfie shooter in a punch-hole design. It also offers stereo speakers, IR remote control, and side fingerprint unlock.
Other highlights:
-
IP64 rating (dust and splash-resistant)
-
Military-grade durability (MIL-STD-810H)
-
Huge 6500mAh battery with 44W fast charging
-
Starts at just $215 (~PKR 61,000)
Vivo Y31 5G – Budget-Friendly, Tough Build!
The regular Y31 5G is cheaper but still packs some great features. It comes with a 6.68-inch 720p display (HD+), also 120Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits brightness. Surprisingly, it gets Guardian Glass protection, which the Pro model lacks!
It runs on the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip and ships with Android 15. Storage is limited to 128GB, with 4GB or 6GB RAM options. No SD card slot here either.
What’s really impressive is the IP69 rating, which means it’s very water- and dust-resistant – better than the Pro! It’s also MIL-STD-810H certified for durability.
Camera setup is the same:
-
50MP main camera
-
8MP front camera (punch-hole)
It has the same 6500mAh battery but no mention of fast charging. Starting price? $170 (~PKR 48,000) – a bit high for 4GB RAM, but let’s see how prices change in other markets.
Final Thoughts
Both phones are solid 5G options with massive batteries and smooth screens. If you want better performance and a sharper display, go for the Y31 Pro. If you care more about durability and want to save money, the Y31 is still a great choice.
Stay tuned as these phones head to more countries soon!
