A fresh leak on X hints that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is getting a small but noticeable design change. Samsung might make the phone’s corners more rounded, moving away from the sharp and boxy look we’ve seen before.
This isn’t a huge redesign, but it does show where Samsung is heading with its Ultra phones. The squared-off design started with the Galaxy Note 10 and lasted until the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which was the last model with a smooth and rounded body. That phone was also the start of the Ultra series after Samsung ended the Note lineup.
Recently, with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, Samsung dropped the hard 90-degree corners. And now, according to well-known leaker @UniverseIce, the S26 Ultra will get an even softer and more comfortable shape.
That’s great news for users who didn’t like the sharp corners digging into their hands. However, sharp edges are still sticking around for now. So, it won’t be perfect yet — but it’s a step forward!
Big Changes Ahead for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Series
Samsung is also planning a new strategy for its 2026 flagship lineup. Here’s what we expect:
-
Galaxy S26 Pro will replace the base model
-
Galaxy S26 Edge will be the mid-tier option
-
Galaxy S26 Ultra will stay on top
Out of the three, only the Ultra will support the S Pen and come with a huge 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen.
More Power Under the Hood
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra may also pack a special version of the Snapdragon 8 chip, called the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 — a powerful, overclocked chip made “For Galaxy.” It’ll run on Android 16 with One UI 8.5 on top.
There are still a lot of unknowns, but we’re keeping an eye out. The Samsung Galaxy S26 series is expected to launch in January 2026, so stay tuned for more exciting updates!
