Apple just launched the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, and they look totally different from past models. These two phones now have a sleek unibody design and a horizontal camera bar. Even better, for the first time, Apple added a high-res 48MP telephoto camera!
Same Power, Different Sizes
Both phones are almost the same on the inside. The only major difference? The Pro Max has a bigger screen and a slightly larger battery.
Stronger, Lighter Body
Apple used Series 7000 Aluminum to build the new iPhones. This makes them lighter and stronger. The metal wraps around the screen and the camera area, which helps protect the phone from drops. You’ll find less glass on the back now — just a small ceramic piece under the camera.
These new iPhones come in Refined Silver, Deep Blue, and Cosmic Orange.
Big Camera Upgrades
The 48MP telephoto camera is new and exciting. It now offers 4x optical zoom (100mm), and up to 8x digital zoom thanks to the higher resolution. The other two rear cameras are also 48MP — one for standard shots (26mm), and one for ultrawide photos (13mm).
Selfies get an upgrade too! The new 18MP front camera now has Center Stage, which follows your face during video calls.
Smarter and Faster
The iPhone 17 Pro models use the new A9 Pro chip with 6 CPU and 6 GPU cores, plus a 16-core neural engine to run all the new Apple Intelligence features. A bigger cooling system inside also gives you 40% better performance during heavy tasks.
Brighter, Smoother Display

Both have Super Retina XDR OLED displays with 1–120Hz refresh rate. Brightness now goes up to 3000 nits, and the screen has a 7-layer anti-reflective coating, making it easier to see in sunlight.
Battery & Storage
Apple says the new phones give you 2 more hours of screen time than last year’s models. Charging stays the same.
