Honor Play 60A 5G Spotted on Certification — A Slimmer Budget Phone Is Coming!

Honor launched the Honor Play 60 5G back in April as an affordable entry-level smartphone. In some regions, it’s also known as the Play 60m. Now, it looks like Honor is preparing to expand the lineup with a brand-new model: the Honor Play 60A 5G. A recent Chinese certification listing has revealed its first details. Here’s everything we know so far!

A New Model Appears on China Telecom

The device was listed under the model number NLA-AN00 on China Telecom. While the name “Play 60A” wasn’t written directly, industry insiders believe this is the upcoming model.

From the early information, the Play 60A seems to have a slimmer and cleaner design than the original Play 60.

Slimmer Body, Lighter Weight

One of the most noticeable changes is the thickness:

  • Honor Play 60A: 7.89mm

  • Honor Play 60: 8.4mm

That’s a big difference for a budget phone! The weight has also been reduced to 186 grams, making it easier to hold and carry.

However, this slimmer design comes with a trade-off.

Smaller Battery to Keep Things Thin

To achieve the thinner look, Honor had to reduce the battery size.

  • Play 60A battery: 5130mAh

  • Play 60 battery: 6000mAh

This means the new model may not last as long on a single charge, but it should still offer decent endurance considering the phone’s simple hardware.

Slightly Bigger Display, Same Entry-Level Experience

The Play 60A features a 6.75-inch IPS LCD with HD+ (720p) resolution. These specs come directly from the certification listing, so they are almost confirmed.

Under the hood, Honor is using a 2.2GHz octa-core chip, though the exact processor name wasn’t mentioned. Since the phone carries the 5G label, it’s safe to assume the chipset supports 5G networks.

Same Camera Setup as Before

Camera specs remain the same as the previous model:

  • 13MP main camera

  • 5MP selfie camera

So, don’t expect major improvements in photography — this is still a basic setup for budget users.

Memory and Storage Options

According to the listing:

  • RAM: Up to 6GB

  • Storage: 128GB

The options seem more limited compared to the Play 60, but we might see more variants when the phone officially launches.

More Details Coming Soon

The Honor Play 60A 5G looks like a lighter, slimmer alternative to the Play 60, with a few compromises but a refreshed design. As usual with early listings, we’ll have to wait for more leaks or an official launch to get the full picture.

Stay tuned — more updates are surely on the way!
