The Honor 500 series is almost here. The phones will launch in just a few hours. Before the event, Honor is sharing teasers to build hype. One big reveal is already confirmed.
3D Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor Confirmed
The Honor 500 Pro gets a 3D Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. It is the only phone in the series with this feature.
This is a major upgrade over the Honor 400 Pro’s slower optical scanner. Ultrasonic sensors are faster and more accurate. They offer better security and smoother unlocking.
Honor even claims the new scanner can unlock in 0.1 seconds. These numbers are usually exaggerated, but this time it might be true.
Works Even With Wet Fingers
Many ultrasonic scanners slow down with water. A wet screen or wet finger can cause problems. Honor says the 500 Pro scanner still works in these situations.
The phone also has an IP69K rating, so it should survive tough conditions. Honor likely tested the scanner very well.
Rumored Specs: What We Expect
The teasers did not share full specs. But leaks give us a good idea.
Powerful Snapdragon Chip
The Honor 500 Pro may use the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. It promises a near-flagship experience without the flagship price.
Huge 8000mAh Battery
A trusted leaker says the phone has an 8000mAh battery. This could give two days of normal use. It will be very hard to drain.
High-End Camera Setup
The phone may feature a 200MP main camera and a 50MP telephoto lens.
The regular Honor 500 is expected to have lower specs, including the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.
Final Thoughts
The Honor 500 series is almost at the finish line. We will share full coverage after the launch. Stay tuned for more updates!
